ordinary travel blog…

i’m sitting on the airport carpet, at my gate.  the plane is late.  kids are running around being entertained by simply being alive.  older people stare out the window in wheel chairs.  the sound of news casters brings the vibration down.  everyone is waiting.  i smell like clementines from a visit to the body shop.  blue skies fill the grey and white room with light.  having fun so far.  got a seat to eat right by the twenty foot high window.  listened to live music outside sub-pop.  feeling happy for no reason.  like a kid i guess.  excited to see my folks and sister, to find that peace i can only feel in the desert, and to pet joey the cat.  simple pleasures always experienced once out of the maze and thicket of the magic of my beloved northwest.  i just pet a service doggy.  watching a little girl awkwardly observe her environment.  i love being on the road.  let’s hope there’s more of that in my future.  let’s hope the plane has a smooth ride to vegas, and i get to keep being alive.  some days appreciation fills my blood, immensely…as if i have just discovered that i really am alive as this person named michelle, who has freckles and loves stones.  oh look, they are de-planing now.  better wrap this up.  maybe i’ll write on the plane too.  i can blog as much as i want.  the sound of snack wrappers fills the air, along with magazine pages turning, the the hum of toddler chatter and their footsteps.  humanity…what a bunch of weirdos we are.  why is it, that in all sci-fi movies and books about beings from other planets, our human race is the only race who buys things in stores, and wears fashionable outfits?  whose idea started this? no other aliens in all of our story telling, buys things and wears outfits like us.  name brands can kiss my ass!  (sorry.  not sure where that sentence emerged from.)  oh, they just said the aircraft wont be here for fifteen more minutes.  we are running a little late.  i’m so thirsty but don’t want to hydrate and have to use the plane bathroom, though will if i must.  i keep catching the eye contact of other woman, as if we are in the know of one another’s stance on things.  three clouds stare at me from their throne above.  i feel so much love.  might have to buy this clementine body butter, it smells so good.  here come the pilots in their uniform, rolling their suitcases along.  i wonder who i will sit next to.  i like how southwest lets you choose.  aircraft has landed.  time to travel south…
